Frequently Asked Questions

How do I commission a portrait?

Simply click Begin Your Portrait Commission and tell me a little about the portrait you’re envisioning. I’ll personally respond to discuss your vision, recommend a size if needed, and guide you through the next steps.

What photographs work best?

High-resolution, well-lit photographs taken at eye level produce the best results. If you’re unsure whether your photos are suitable, feel free to send them—I’m happy to help you choose the strongest reference image.

Can you combine multiple photographs into one portrait?

Yes. If you have separate photographs you’d like combined into a single composition, I’ll let you know if it’s possible and discuss any additional design considerations.

What if I’m not sure what size to choose?

No problem. I’ll happily recommend a size based on your photograph, the level of detail, and where you plan to display the finished painting.

Do you only paint horses, dogs and cats?

No. I create hand-painted portraits of any beloved animals.

How long does a portrait take?

Most portraits are completed within 4–8 weeks, depending on my current commission schedule and the complexity of the artwork. If you need a rush order please submit an inquiry through the website or email me directly

Do you ship throughout the United States?

Yes. Finished portraits can be securely shipped anywhere within the United States, or picked up locally in Sarasota, Florida.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your commission and allows work to begin. The remaining balance is due before shipping or local pickup.

Can I purchase a portrait as a gift?

Absolutely. Custom portraits make meaningful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, memorials, holidays, and special equestrian milestones.

What if I have another question?

I’d be happy to help. Simply submit an inquiry through the website or email me directly, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
